WSI Batch Manager is a manual, PC-based batching software and dosing system for plants that need controlled recipe execution without a fully automatic dosing machine. Users can add materials, create recipes, define acceptable weight ranges and execute batches step by step with a connected weighing scale or manual/demo workflow.
The system is also described as manual batching software, recipe batching software, material dosing software, formulation management software, PC-based dosing software and a manual batch execution system. It is suited to production, compounding, blending, mixing, formulation, weighing and process-control applications.
What the batching and dosing system does
Add products and materials
Create a material master with material code, item name, barcode and unit of measure for ingredients used in recipes.
Create and manage recipes
Build named recipes from ordered materials and define minimum and maximum acceptable weight for every recipe item.
Execute batches step by step
Select a saved recipe, start a batch, add each material in sequence, confirm the weight and track progress until completion.
Manual material dosing
The operator physically adds each material while the software guides the sequence and verifies the weight against the configured range.
Show or hide actual weight
Use visible weighing mode for detailed operation, or blind recipe mode to hide exact recipe and live-weight details from the operator.
Batch records and reports
Record batch activity, operator, recipe, sequence, target range, actual weight and result for Excel-compatible reporting.
Manual batching workflow
- Administrator adds materials and products to the item master.
- Administrator creates a recipe and adds its material sequence and acceptable weight limits.
- Operator selects the recipe and starts a new batch.
- The software shows the current material, sequence, range, tare instruction and scale state according to permissions.
- The operator manually adds material and confirms it when the weight is within the permitted range.
- The software records the result, advances to the next material and updates recipe progress.
- At the end, the batch is completed and the activity can be included in reports.
Visible weighing mode and blind dosing mode
In visible mode, authorized users can see the current material, target range, actual scale weight, status and progress. In blind recipe mode, the administrator can hide exact recipe and weight information from standard operators while retaining clear LOW, OK and HIGH feedback. This supports controlled manual dosing where operators need process guidance without seeing precise formulation or target values.
Manual tare and automatic tare
The system can be configured for manual tare or automatic tare. Manual tare instructs the operator to clear the scale and wait for a stable zero before the next material. Automatic tare uses the current scale reading as the tare reference and calculates net weight for the next recipe step.
PC-based dosing software applications
- Manual batching and recipe execution for manufacturing plants.
- Material dosing and formulation control for blending and mixing operations.
- Ingredient weighing for food, chemical, pharmaceutical and specialty production.
- Compounding, additive dosing and controlled raw-material addition.
- Small-batch, pilot-plant and laboratory production workflows.
- Production weighing with operator accountability and batch traceability.
Administration and control features
- Administrator and operator roles.
- Material, product and item master management.
- Recipe creation, renaming, saving and deletion.
- Recipe item sequence and minimum/maximum weight limits.
- Scale COM-port configuration and connection status.
- Manual or automatic tare selection.
- Blind recipe mode with configurable material identifier visibility.
- Batch logs and Excel report download.
Software and scale integration
WSI Batch Manager is designed to work with a connected weighing scale through a configured serial/COM-port interface. A simulated or demo mode can also be used for demonstrations and software evaluation without physical weighing hardware. The system can be supplied as software-only, as a PC-based batching package with scale integration, or as part of a wider industrial weighing and process automation project.
